State of Connecticut awards Yale RNA biologist its highest honor

Joan A. Steitz, Ph.D., Sterling Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, received the 2015 Connecticut Medal of Science for her seminal research on the structure and function of RNA. The medal is Connecticut’s highest honor for scientific achievement in fields crucial to the state’s economic competitiveness.
